Mind/Body Techniques for Pelvic Conditioning
Building and maintaining a healthy pelvic floor is essential after childbirth and most abdominal and pelvic surgeries.
It also aids in the prevention of the following:
Levator Ani Syndrome
Female Sexual Dysfunction
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Low Back Pain
This workshop will cover the use of exercises, imagery, postural applications and some anatomical education. Students will learn simple exercises to tone, balance and condition the joints of the pelvis and the muscles of the pelvic floor. These exercises are easy to remember and can be done at home. Exercise balls are utilized in this workshop and maybe included in the tuition.
Students will be participating in light exercise and will need to be able to get down on to the floor and get up off of the floor. Please dress in comfortable clothing which allows for full range of motion. It is recommended that each participant bring: a large bath towel or blanket (an exercise mat is optional for floor work), water for drinking and a snack.
Class Material is based on Eric Franklin’s Pelvic Power workshop, medical knowledge, a variety of fitness methods and mind/body techniques. This holistic approach to pelvic floor training is successful because it not only utilizes a fitness program but also is meant to be incorporated into one’s daily activities. Students will leave the workshop feeling knowledgeable and ready with tools and exercises to increse the function and health of their pelvic floor as well as a means toward increased awareness and sexual vitality.
